Oddly enough, in Montana they kicked out all the local Repubs, even tho they have majority Repub registration and the state went for Bush. The dems are closely studying the governor's election there, trying to figure out what he did right that all the other dems are doing wrong. The new gov also had coattails, and brought a lot of other dems in too.
