The passenger side mirror servo shorted out on my 97 S420 a few months ago. I can still move it side to side but not up and down. When it shorted out it blew the fuse so I know a short is in there and I need to check the wiring to see where the problem is. Question is are there any major parts in the actual mirror or is it inside the door panel? Also, I know the servo needs replacement, does anyone know of a cheaper source for this part or servo. Mercedes quoted I think $400, don't remember exactly but was expensive.

Does the small panel on the inside of the door by the mirror come off in one piece when the entire door panel comes off or is it a separate piece? If it comes off separately can someone give me the removal instructions? Thanks.
