I just finished washing my hands from chasing (its a tough one) and fixing that same problem. It got solved from advice, I'd have never thought of it, and its too easy to check. The belt. Its checked by just pouring some water on it, and a cheep fix is a spray can of belt dressing. And if that doesn't work a new belt isn't that much either.
