If you are using XP, just say OK to everything when the New Hardware Found box comes up. Then just open Explorer, and you will see the camera listed as another hard drive, assigned its own drive letter, which represents the Smartdisk in your camera. You can copy, rename or remove the files from your camera from Explorer. To make it easier, in Explorer, click View and then View Thumbnails, and you will see your pictures as thumbnails. Delete the ones you don't want and move the rest to your hard drive's "My Pictures" folder from there, until your Smartdisk is cleared and therefore ready to take more pictures. You can move them using Drag and Drop.
The software included is usually more for manipulating the image, resizing, cropping, etc. If you click on the thumbnail in Explorer it should automatically open your picture file for editing in this software package.
