No, I hadn't removed the plenum. I guess I can have another go at it, and this time remove the plenum/leg protector, and see what more I can see. I'll have to time it right for good weather (no snow or rain, and not too cold)

I'll also keep pursuing what's inside the box to see if it can be fixed.
