Ouch! I hate it when they cross stuff up like that. Steve, your description is entirely accurate. I looked in my book, and sure enough, they have the pictures not matching the wire callouts. I believe the comments about bridging between the terminals amounts to this: Look at the schematic for the "first version" - the first schematic shown for job 82-860. See how there is a red wire to the top of item 6 and 10? Well, the other versions had a red wire AND a red/white wire. I THINK this means that if you have both wires, no problem. If you have only the red wire, you have to solder a jumper wire on the outside of ther switch from where the red wire goes to where the red/white one WOULD go, if it were there. If you don't, I think the seat bottom works, but not the backrest. See the inside drawing of items 6 and 10? Power from the fuse is switched to the motors by those lines, and maybe replacement switches are second version only. If they got the diagrams right, this would be easy, no?
