I currently have textar pads with ATE power discs all the way around. (regualar ATE's in the rear) They have tons of bite and make no noise. Not to mention the power discs look cool behind my wheels. But they throw tons of dust!!! I have never seen a car throw so much dust. After I drive a few miles I can write my name on my wheels.
I am not hard on my brakes and expect to get 20k-30k out of my front pads, I do 50/50 city highway driving.
Next time around I will try to get lower dust pads, if you have a nice set of aftermarket wheels get a low dust pad. I have to clean my wheels at least every other day so they don't turn black.
