Just read many threads about all the folks who had planned to bypass that demon Servo, but few "after" stories.

To those who have done so, what were the end results for heater and defrost function?
Did you just bypass the engine side line, or both?
Was the gate valve or bowden cable unit preferable?
Any good leads on those valves?
Anybody just use heater hose, rather than fitting in copper tube?
Anyone remember the diameter?
Any tips on avoiding major coolant loss during the procedure?
