The wire on this system gets very hot - could the nitrous have caused a chemical reaction with the wire? I'm not a chemist, but it seems like a reasonable explanation to me.

I have a 2 year old spare MAF in good working condition if you're interested. From a 1994 or 1995 E420 (I'll check for exact model year if you're interested).

I bought it from a guy that was throwing parts at a problem (Must have been a rich guy to throw a MAF at any problem first). Tested out OK at Mercedes dealer.
