Ive put on about 300 miles so far since ive installed the fans.
My question would be what would be the best SET POINT for the fans to kick on at.
now in driving my my temp hovers just above the 80 mark with all highway speed. of course it is 10 F outside. I believe i have it set about 90 (half-way to the next bar?)right now and its has only kicked on when i idle it for longer than 5 min. it only operates for about 30 seconds than shuts off. that thing really moves some air.

so should i set it closer to 80 or 90?

Thanks for the ideas on the high amp alternators. I think i will start looking around for one of the 120+ from the v-8s
