Varnish!

My process is to sand with a small block 150 grit, then 320. I plan to put 6 or 8 coats Epifanes high gloss marine varnish, sanding 320 grit between coats, and applying the varnish with Epifanes finest china bristle brush! I didn't buy this brush just for this work, but have used it for years on my boats.

I'm not planning to stain the Zebrano wood, didn't do that for my 124! The wood comes out lighter and I like it better than the original darkened finish applied by MB, but the 80 107 has a light gray interior, unlike the creme interior of the 124 which looks great with lighter wood, but may not look so good with gray, we'll see!

By the way, the original finish on the 80 107 looks like oil based varnish, unlike the 124 that looked like a urethane finish with to me!

Merry Christmas............ BB
