I would go for the 98 especially for the price.

Other than a harmonic balancer, mass air sensor, battery, front brakes, and a few light bulbs my 98 has been very reliable and relatively cheap to own.

I would check the maintenance records for when (or if) the oil was changed over to synthetic. Also check if the spark plugs have been changed, the recommend interval is 4 years or 100K miles whichever comes first.

I use Mobil 1 0W40 and change it every 5K miles. I changed my trans fluid and filter at 80K. My 98 now has 100K miles and drives like new.
