Probably bounce off, which would be a good thing. Meanwhile the truck would flip over, crush its passenger compartment, and kill everyone inside, as pickup trucks often do. Seriously though, I think we had a big hairy thread about this recently, but small /= dangerous. Cheap = dangerous, but small doesn't.
For Germany, it would probably be more practical to let these 1Ls on the autobaun, and ban the pickup trucks.
This is the direction cars are going.. They have to. As long as companies pay attention to quality and safety, great cars will come of it, even if they are smaller and lighter weight.
