I had my power steering hose clamp replaced due to it failing at about 30,000 miles on my 2000 ML320. Then they replaced the clamp under the recall when the recall was announced. Today it blew off again when I was backing down the driveway. To fix it again, is all I have to do is reattach the hose and clamp and tighten it again, then adding power sterring fluid? I can see where it backed off the radiator stem. Now I got a nice mess on the concrete driveway.
Is there any special power steering fluid I should use. Should I replace the clamp at all?
Would it do any good to report it to NHTSA since it was already recalled once for this.
