I suggest obtaining the Factory manuals, available from either MBUSA or a variety of other vendors on computer CD. You can also find them in the out-of-print books on places such as Ebay. The Electrical Troubleshooting Manual (ETM) has the complete vacuum circuit diagrams, and should help you. It helped me identify why I wasn't getting turbo boost in my '86 300SDL. Turns out, all I needed to do was to switch vacuum lines at the switchover valve. That alone was worth the $130 I paid for the CD!
