In the world of BIG gas powered V-8's with big camshafts they sometimes don't get the needed vacuum from the engine to run power brakes etc. Therefore, 12 volt stand alone vacuum pumps are available to supply the need. Without looking , I think Master Power Brakes is one supplier. Just look through some of the Rod mag's/search the net, etc., you'll find 'em.
