It's possible that the coupes have more travel in the seats but I'm not sure. It did surprise me that the seat could go back as far as it did. Maybe it isn't as noticeable on an automatic. My coupe has a manual transmission I have to use the clutch and it requires full engagement to shift and that means pushing the pedal to the floor and that's were I noticed I was back too far.
