Hi,
I searched the forums and hit upon the post below, which likely answers my question, but I'd appreciate a response nonetheless.
http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=50602&highlight=spark+plug+m119
First time changing spark plugs on a M119 ('97 E420).
Are the sparkplugs located beneath the black plastic covers (2 - 1 over left cylinder bank, 1 over right) held in place by the Torx(?) head screws? I initially removed the center black plastic cover, found the airmass meter, and what looks like the fuel injector rail (no surprise here -- didn't think the spark plugs would be "in-board"), so I figured it best to reassemble everything, take a picture or two and ask the friendly experts in this forum for help.
Could someone kindly indicate where the spark plugs are on this car? I am still operating under the assumption that this is a relatively straightforward DIY job given the right tools. Which leads me to: the plastic covers are held in place with Torx head screws, yes? I have Torx bits, but no sockets - I am assuming Sears carries these sockets? Could someone knowledgeable kindly post the needed size.
Many thanks and a happy and safe New Year to everone.
