My 87 300E sometimes makes a little fan noise on shutoff. I have also smelled a slight amount of smoke twice in past few months. I intended to just change the motor but in searching many people just change the brushes and lube the bearings. Is there a way to tell what I need before I get into the motor? Thanks.
