At the time a put on the new relay last night, it was 45 degrees F in the garage and the engine was warm to the touch but not hot. I wasn't aware of the new relays having any afterglow. The MB shop manual doesn't mention for my year of vehicle (85 3000D). Staying on for a minute seemed way too long.
