This isn't really relevant to the original question, but it's FYI for other readers.

I bought a newer, slightly smaller Hirschmann from a guy on eBay. It needed a little wiring adapting, but it doesn't have the "halfway up" function. It goes all the way up with the rocker switch in either the middle or up position. I don't miss it at all.
