Spring Rate Up front

Litton,

I do not fully understand the mechanics of how the front suspension of the ML works since there are torsion bars that can be adjusted to raise and lower the front (and upon quick look, I could not find a coil spring up front). I can only assume that there is something else that provides the vertical spring motion up front.

Anyway just to clarify, are you saying that the spring rate is increased when the torsion bars are adjusted to lower the front end? Thus causing the harsher ride?
