Part of me is inclined to agree with you, however I helped my friend pick out this car a few years ago, and fell in love with it immediately. This is my 4th W123, and, although it's my favorite, I love the character of the W124 with the straight 6 sound. It has a rumble and a feel that the newer V6 just doesn't have. And, since I've done most of the maintenance on the 300E for him, I know the car. I am going to go ahead and have the head gasket replaced and a valve job done in the next few months. I'm going to be calling and getting estimates this week.
So, the wagon is for sale...
