Here, he learned that he can't get anywhere with your boss, and you learned that your boss is on your side and won't roll over. This is good for both of you to know, and it also helps explain what he did next.

In the second case, he was bccing his own boss to cover his own ass on something, probably because he was already in trouble for being late for this particular task or even other tasks and needed to document some kind of reason (excuse) for it... I wouldn't take that too seriously unless/until his boss comes to your boss to complain. Respond professionally to his email and cc your boss.
I'd say keep your boss up to date on any dealings you have with this guy so your boss knows you're doing your job and can defend you if needed, and you'll be fine. Also, take none of it personally, because it has little to do with you and everything to do with him. Not taking it personally keeps you from losing your temper with him at work, which will get you ito trouble every time.
This guy is already digging his own hole, people like that always do. If he's dealing with you this way, he's probably dealing with others the same way, and making all kinds of complaints and problems for his own management, and that won't last forever
