Ha, you and me both! What do you have, the whining noise?
I'm pretty sure you have to stick with the ASR version, it has a contact port built into the casting at the pinion shaft area, don't know how you would make the car function correctly without reinstalling the ASR connector from the electrical/computer system. I would think you would set off a malfunction code right away if that connector was not reinstalled into the correct diff. Maybe I'm wrong.
The consensus here is to go looking at a reputable salvage yard first. Its too cold for that right now, so I'm going to wait about 2 months.
