This is why I bought a Eldorado for a daily driver to supplement my old 300D instead of a MB. My dad has a my '00 ML320. Called the local stealership where we bought it new.
Was told that the old design filter lets sediment backflow into pump from filter causing said pump to lock up and vehicle not to start. Service writer said this could happen at any time if gas is of poor quality. They offered to update to new filter and hoses for $300.00. We didn't cause this problem, but we bought it for $40,000. SHAME on Mercedes for allowing this to happen. Reminds me of why the British and Italians don't sell cars in this country anymore.
