I did question the seller about the overheating problem/incident and he replied:
1)AC is fine, cycles fine, all controls work fine.
2)Drove the car approx 60 miles & temp was fine.
Drove another 50 miles days later to meet a potential
bidder and when I came down off the freeway the temp
gauge climbed WAY up to ALMOST the top white (not red)
line. Just when I was about to turn it off the needle
dropped fairly rapidly to normal. I suspected a
thermostat. I drove back home paying close attention
(I would never, **NEVER** let any car overheat) but it
ran cool and fine. Woke up today to your email and
drove (very worried now but again it ran fine)
straight to MBZ where they played with it a little,
RAVED about it a bunch and with a new thermostat it
ran (again, fine)nicely back home.
Now all I need to do is deal with my gut and my wallet
