NAPA's filters are made by WIX. WIX filters are built a hell of alot better then FRAMs. I once cut open a Fram filter, only to find that the filter ends were thin cardboard and the "spring" was just a piece of stamped aluminum, absolute garbage. Whereas a WIX spin-on filter has an actual metal coil spring in it. Of course this type of filter doesn't pretain to my diesel, but for my past gas engines I used WIX. When I first bought my car I did the first oil change using a WIX filter. It came with a new rubber gasket, but no washer for the drain plug. I paid $13 for it. Now bear in mind I was not aware of this wonderful website at the time, where I can get OEM filters for $7. Also, I wanted to do an oil change ASAP so that I could establish a base line. Now of course I stick with MANN or Hengst.
