So I dont still have the old one. If I did I would take it appart to see if I could figure out what failed and if I could figure out how to fix it - Or involve one of my EE friends (my background is ME).

BTW Jim thanks for the warning on the spring. That's why I was ready with a loop of string to keep it in its place. Tied it off with minimal tension to keep its hidden end attached. Worked like a charm.
