Same law in California and even as a smoker, I agree with it for the most part. Bar owners should get to choose.

The best thing that has happened out here is no smoking on the beach. It's not the clean air issue there. It's the millions of cigarette butts that arseholes toss anywhere when they are finished with them.

Also: toss a butt out the window on the freeway and you get to enjoy a $1000 fine, plus court greed assessments.

Smoking near gas pumps, eh? Some fool friend of mine was driving a fuel delivery truck for Chevron and one night he thumped a live butt out his window which hit a CHP cruiser's windshield.
