If the light is not coming on, you may want to do those glow plugs earlier.

My 300SD had an "intermittent" light which I now understand means a 2nd plug was dying (meaning the 1st was already dead). When the 2nd plug died, the light didn't come on and I was dead in the water until I had the plugs swapped. Had no garage at the time and paid a shop $200 to do it!

I'd pop in those new glow plugs soon if yours are original. Although I don't believe in replacing parts "just for the heck of it", it wouldn't be a bad idea to put in new plugs and a new strip fuse right away!

You can always keep one of the spare glow plugs and your old glow fuse in the trunk as spares..
