There is a rythmic clunking noise coming from the front rhs wheel assembly of my 1999 model year clk 230 kompressor the car is right hand drive and has 3700 miles on the clock. As the car speeds up the noise speeds up and it is present but not very audible at speed. The car is automatic there is a slight groan and the noise is pretty loud when the car is just starting to creep away at low speed. touching the brake peddle muffles the sound slightly. This is my first mercedes I swaped my audi tt for it and I have it less than one week so I am not too familiar with the car.
Anyone have any ideas what this could be I would like to have some idea as walking into my local franchise dealer with a clunking 1999 merc and no ideas will be a painful experience. hope someone can help
