Removing rear axles from 124

Within the next couple weeks I plan to replace the bearing carrier bushings on my father's 300E. It has pretty bad negative camber and this is about the last thing back there that could affect it, or at least me indie told me to do these next. I am doing these because I've already replaced all the other control arms back there and I was hoping this will finally fix it.

Anyways, what needs to be done to remove the axles? I know the bushings are pressed in, but are there any other special tools required like a spring compressor? I was hoping to leave the springs alone if I could. I ask this question assuming the axles need to come out, but do they? I need to get to the point of being able to take the bearig carriers into the machine shop to have the bushings pressed out/in.

Let me know if I'm missing anything.

Thanks
David
