Also... is this failure (viscous clutch bearing bracket) more likely related to my oil leaks fowling it or the short time (couple of months) spent last year with an all the way tight tensioner?
Are there good reasons to replace this with new expensive parts or is salvage likely to be ok?
Can it be rebuilt?
It does have the updated water hose bracket (I'm not sure if that is original on an 86' but I don't think so).
I will need a new fan pulley and the Allen that holds the viscous clutch on is striped so I will probably be wanting to pull the whole thing off a wreck if possible.
