Help with interior part terminology?

This is surely a stupid question, but I am asking it anyway. I have several, probably inter-related electrical problems on my car. On looking over schematics in the manual, I am referred to a table for component locations in the back of the book. Unfortunately, I do not understand auto-body-part terminology. I have removed screws and tugged at...er...parts...but the locations fasteners and other attachments are often not obvious and I have already wasted quite a bit of time trying to find connections.

So, now for the dumb question: Can someone please define for me exactly what the manual is referring to when it states that a connection is located in or behind a:

1. Footwell
2. Kickpanel
3. Bolster
