When I removed the front drivers seat in my w124 (93 400e) last week, I used the power seat motor to navigate the seat to a position that I could use a wrench and socket to gain access to the bolts. On the bolt closest to the drive axel, I used a short extension, with a flex adapter and socket. On the other bolt closest to the door, I used an open end wrench with an approach from the rear of the seat. I was also able to use a low profile socket and ratchet.
You might also try removing the rear, lower bench seat. It helps when trying to get your body into a position to use the tools. The rear, bench lower seat is VERY easy to remove. Just release two taps and pull and lift.
Hope this helps…..
