I don't think you can apply that to every diesel. The oil in my 03 duramax gets changed every 7500 miles and looks only slightly darker than the stuff I am dumping back in (amsoil synthetic). I would think the new MB motor should run relatively clean as well.
Kayooh, are you being literal about the "thick as molasses" comment or over-exagerating. It shouldn't be that cold down there to ever make your oil that thick.
