O.K., I have a suggestion. (I might add it's nothing short of genius!)

Anytime you get the urge to delete something, why don't you just lock the thread instead. Say ... for 48 hours. That would prevent the offending parties for 'egging it on' as well as alerting the rest of us as to what will not be tolerated. Everyone would have time to "cool off" and maybe eliminate, not only errant button pushing, but also allow us to return to civility. And in the end, isn't that what we all want?
