I think the Ak or AK variant is easier to live with. I am not sure what you can get but here in California you can't get much. I guess if you were able to get your hands on a removeable magazine SKS that would be the cheapest way to go. I know some of the Chinese made SKS's had a trigger group problem where one pull of the trigger would empty the whole magazine
