not bad about 50-60 lbs depending on the wirght of the bullet. A 500 grain buffalo bullet will leave a nice mark on the shoulder.

In reference to other guns it's a little more than a standard 12ga round and a little less than a 12ga slug.

It's a real sharp pound though like a rifle so it doesn't keep coming back, which leads to those fashionable half moons on the forehead.
