This is one of the problems that is leading to the downfall of society - lack of responsibility for your personal actions. If you do the crime, you can do the time.
Coming from an educator, many (not all) parents feel it is the responsibility of the schools to raise their children. This is just the first step in a chain of shirking responsibility. I have even had a parent tell me, "I am sending my child off because YOU (meaning the teacher) can't raise him right." Almost lost my job over this one because I told her it was her responsibility and if she didn't want a child she should have kept her legs closed. Sorry, it came out of my mouth before I could help myself. But I accepted responsibility for what I said and also accepted the punishment - most satisfying three days off without pay I ever experienced!
