I imagine the site you looked at was a W126 (Mercedes Benz W126 Club?) site. My car is a '90 420sel and it came up a diesel on that site also. Must be a glich.
As posted previous, if the timing chain has not been changed, change it. If not you will be facing an expensive engine rebuild or replace if it "jumps time".
