Getting ready to do the valve stem seal replacemt. (heads on car).
Bought the seals (Meistersatz, made in Germany, is on the pkg.)
All the seals (intake and exhaust are the same size)
Is this correct? Seems like I read in a thread that intake seals were
bigger, but maybe that was on a different engine.
Mine is a 74 450 SEL.
I've ordered the Tomguy recommended valve spring compresssor.
When I get that, I'm going to practice on a similar car in a junkyard
and grab a few spare "keepers" just in case.
Appreciate all the responses I have been getting on this topic.
If I'm successful eventually it will be like surviving a fraternity
haze ritual.
I just hate to abandon an old high mileage car that is mechanically
fine other than the warm up smoke problem.
