I replaced both the left and right cooling hoses on my 95 E-320 they are inexpensive to get and I too would recommend you change both at the same time. The procedure is simple the main problem is the lost of transmission fluid. What I did was to lift the front end of the car on ramps or other appropriate support and unbolt them one at the time. Make sure you keep track of which is left or right I believe one is longer that the other. Do not over tight the nuts. I bought mine from Fast Lane, talk to Phil he has always been very helpful.
