cold weather starting
Now that things are starting to warm-up here in S. Illinois I rediscovered what I once did to aid glow plug efficiency. I used to re-cycle plugs in extreme cold weather (a habit I had w/ the Dodge/Cummins) and during initial start-up the engine ran much smoother. Read where if you just left the plugs glow for a few seconds after the light goes out you get the same effect. However the 240 (82) always ran rough at startup unless plugged in using this procedure. The other day I started it up in 30 degree weather and recycled it twice. It ran smooth. Does my glow system shut down after the light goes out or does it it keep going?
