I bought a euro "82" 5 spd 240D with SLS last fall. There was lots wrong with the car. The guy had run over a stump or something and the lower pan was mangled so bad the sump on the oil pump was broken off.  Good thing the oil didnt get low. Anyway I fixed everything, swapped the tranny and drive shaft into the wifes car and sold the "82".... I guess if you put the 5 spd into your wagon you'l have to shorten the drive shaft again?
