Worse is that according to several sources, most folks who eat canned meat are poor. Even worse is that while the state long ago abolished sales taxes on most food, they still find a way to tax folks for it. For our gov it’s all about stealing from one "special" interest after another.
That is, when they’re not giving it away. There was another article where the Port of Seattle sold a property to a local produce distributor at a nice value. In less than a year the distributor re-sold the property and made millions off of the sale. The state’s logic in selling the property in the first place was that it would help to keep the produce distributor in the city. Naturally, the produce vendor never said it had any intension of moving……
Oh yeah, had the sold the property for what the food distributor did, it would have gained more revenue than the canned meat tax they want to implement....
