I am sure it has been discussed and discussed- I did a search with no luck and a little low on time. I am considering a 1987 420SEL and wondering about the engine in these cars. I think I remember reading something bad about them before, but I may be wrong? Was it bad oil seals or headgasket woes? It has 250K, but it priced right and has been well maintained.
