CEL and MAF replacement

It is my understanding and personal experience that you have to do nothing if the CEL light is on and caused by a defective MAF. Just replace the MAF. Do a search in this site and you will see "professional" advise about this. Bottom line, if light is not out, it should go out with new MAF. If it doesn't in a short amount of time, have it reset and that's it. The engine computer will take it from there, either way, once the new MAF is installed.

ONE of the great thing about this site are the highly experienced and knowledgable participants who will chime in if they have a different view/opinion.
