pesuazo is right. You don't need to remove the center nut. The rotor may appear to be held on by the nut, but if you look closer there is a seam around the hub where the rotor meets it. It is likely filled with rust. Try cleaning it with a steel brush and some penetrating oil. Some persuasion with a hammer should coax it off.
I think I rigged up a puller with a metal bar and a pair of c-clamps once to pull a stubborn rotor.
